The Night Of Being VIPs In The Ministry Of Sound
< My First Ever Buddhist Meditation Class | Blog | An Army Parade In The Guildford Town Centre! >
On Friday 16th November my friend Tristan wanted to celebrate his redundancy in style.
So he invited me and some other friends, to be in the VIP section with him in the Ministry of Sound nightclub in London.
Tristan's favourite DJ and idol DJ Dave Pearce was playing that night to promote his Delirium album. A number of other DJ's were also playing before and after him too.
Me and Tristan had previously met DJ Dave Pearce before, which was back in the summer of 2006. This was due to Tristan winning a competition on BBC Radio 1 whilst we were on holiday in Tenerife. We got to be VIP's in the top nightclub on the island called Tramps. I wrote a blog about on here about the holiday back in September 2006, if you want to read it.
Me, Tristan, his girlfriend Kate, Valerie, her boyfriend Ollie, Steve, and Kirsten all met at the Guildford train station.
We caught the train to Waterloo, but we got on the slow one, which seemed to stop at every single station across the South East, as it took forever to get to Waterloo!
We arrived at Waterloo station, and then we got on the Tube, and made our way towards the Elephant and Castle area of London.
Luckily Steve knew the way there, as he had been to the club before. The club seemed to be in the middle of nowhere down a side road, and from the outside it looked liked a block of flats. It was a strange place to be for a top club in London.
There was an ambulance outside, so it looked like a fight, or some trouble had happened before we arrived, which was a bit worrying when we saw that.
As we were in the VIP area, we avoided the queue and got straight inside.
We entered the VIP area and we were met by a pretty blonde girl working in there. She had long blonde hair and was dressed in a nice fitting party dress. She was a great host for the evening. She gave us all VIP wrist bands to wear, and then we sat down at out booked table, which had a name plate with Tristan's name on.
The blonde lady host showed us all round, and then took our coats. She brought us out a bottle of champagne and put it in an ice bucket. She also served us all night with other drinks and cocktails, and gave us all some sweets, which was nice.
We took some photos whilst we were sat there.

Drinks are in!

Bottoms up!

Cheers! Chin, chin

Oh dear, I look wasted in this one!!! :-(
We then walked round to where the DJ booth was through a door in the VIP section. We were near the DJ booth for a while, but then the bouncer there checked my VIP pass, and we needed AAA VIP passes to be in that bit, so we were all chucked out. We all then had the humiliation to walk all the way back round to our VIP section, across the dance floor.
Once we were back in the safety of our VIP section, we danced a bit on our balcony over looking the dance floor, and I took the below photos on my mobile.

DJ Dave Pearce walked through the VIP area where we were, and we had our photos taken with him.

Dave took Tristan's mobile number, and then he texted Tristan to ask him to join him in the DJ booth. When we later tried to get in there, we couldn't because of the bouncer and not having AAA passes. Only Tristan was allowed from our group to be in the DJ booth.
Tristan's girlfriend got a bit cheesed off, as she wanted to spend the evening with him. Me and Steve danced around on the dance floor, and the others went elsewhere.
We eventually all met up again in the club, and then we headed back to Waterloo station to catch our train back to Guildford.
There was a bit of an argument between Tristan and his girlfriend, due to him spending more time in the DJ booth, than with her, but my friend Valerie calmed them both down, so it was not too bad in the end. They made it up, so it was ok.
I liked it in the Ministry of Sound, although I was a little bit quieter than normal, as I was feeling a bit rough.
I think I will go there again in the future, as I enjoyed the music and the atmophere!
