Digital Cigarettes And Universal Spirals< Thai Festival In Milford | Blog | Blackberry Picking & Picking A New Home > Back in September, I went out during one evening in Guildford with friends Frog, Rachael, and Tony.
We went in the Britannia pub in Guildford, as two musicians Frog knew were playing there that night. I knew one of them who is called Adam. He was playing the drums in a music video, which I helped edit with Frog, which you can see here. We enjoyed listening to their music, and I took the below photo of them on my mobile.
Frog had recently started smoking e-cigarettes and brought one along with him to smoke inside the pub. It’s not some dodgy drug that you smoke; they are in fact electronic cigarettes. The cigarettes don’t give off smoke, they give off a vapour, which it caused by a battery powered atomiser vaporising the liquid inside the device. I tried it out and it was Red Bull favoured. Frog asked a guy behind the bar if he could smoke his e-cigarette inside the pub, as it didn’t give off toxic smoke like a real cigarette. The guy working behind the bar had never seen an e-cigarette before. The guy behind the bar then asked the other bar staff for advice, and then spoke to his manager, none of them had seen one before, but agreed in the end to let Frog smoke it in there. It was funny seeing Frog smoke the e-cigarette. It lighted up blue, which was due to an LED light on the end, whenever Frog took a puff from it. He looked like an alien out of Star Trek. Frog said that he was trying to give up his analogue cigarettes (meaning his roll-up tobacco cigarettes) and go digital instead with his e-cigarette.
Frog gained quite a crowd around him from people inside the pub curious about what he was smoking. He joked that he could become a salesperson and get commission from the makers of the e-cigarette for giving out demonstrations to people.
Tony left early, as he had to go to work early the next day. It was a fun evening in the Britannia. After we finished our drinks, Frog, Rachael and me walked along the River Wey towards Frog’s cottage. As it was night, it was hard seeing where we were going. The warm glow of light emanating from the windows of some boats along the river bank helped guide the way.
When were inside his cottage, Frog offered to give Rachael a special gift. This gift was his ‘A Stick To Hold A Spiral On’. I’ve seen him do it lots of times, and each time it’s just as fun to watch. He tells a story of spirals in the universe and their connection with spirals in nature and everything else around us. When my Dad saw Frog, he referred to him as 'Spirals', as the first time he saw him, he wearing a jumper with a big spiral on it.
I filmed the below video of Frog's spiral performance for Rachael on my mobile.
I crashed at Frog’s place for the night and returned home in the morning. It was an interesting night out. Related ContentComments on Digital Cigarettes And Universal Spirals |
